Collection: Pillow Covers

We work with artisan communities around Sri Lanka to produce our range of cushions covers, all made by hand, using many different techniques. In the Central Highlands, our Dumbara graphic woven designs are made by individual weavers, using a UNESCO recognized heritage technique, each design made by only one weaver. Batik, a wax crafted and dyed process of creating patterns, is made on our heavy cotton canvas. We work with a small group of artisans, and due to the hand made process, each cushion retains its unique identity. Our applique cushions, made by a ladies collective in the central area of Sri Lanka, are carefully assembled from colored cotton canvas, all using a reverse stitch technique. We have recently begun to make natural dyed plain cushions from plants. Again, on natural cottons with a final, lovely, uneven finish to the color. The handloom community from the Western Province that also weave our throws, make our intricate designed patterned cushion covers.
